Hello, I'm Wendy.
I live in a small village called Beaumomt-cum-Moze close to Clacton, Frinton and Walton. I have two grown up sons and a naughty border collie called Bobby. My husband and I have been together for over thirty years, both growing up in the Manningtree area.

I'm currently working as a Community Champion for Morrisons in Little Clacton. I'm lucky enough to have met some wonderful people who both work and volunteer in our community. I interact with foodbanks, charities and schools and fundraise for Marie Curie.

I love music, I always try and have a radio on, walking my dog and meeting up with family and friends.
My Story
Why be a funeral celebrant? It started over twenty years ago with my own Mum's funeral. She had written down a few things she wanted and didn't want. She chose her favourite music, requested no flowers and was very clear about not having a vicar! An uncle stepped in, led the ceremony and read the eulogy as celebrants weren't really even a thing then. An aunt, a cousin my sister and I read out what we wanted to say, and several people came up to us afterwards and said it was the nicest funeral they had ever been to.
The funerals I have attended since have mostly been celebrant led and I knew I wanted to be one. To make a ceremony so personal, so fitting to the lost loved one is an absolute privelage. I can tell their story through the memories of their family and friends whether it be in a traditional way with hymns and prayers, or more of a celebration of their life with favourite music, slideshows, funny stories or anything else they wished to include.

I have trained with The Academy of Modern Celebrancy. They have many years of experience and have passed that to thousands of their students.
I am also part of The Celebrants Guild.
